Description |
Photo of the Imaginary Theatre before its demolition in the 1970s. Handwriting on back of photo reads: "Located on property near Judy Creek and Covered bridge. Operated by Charles L Henry approx 1918 through 1930. Silent films were shown on Tues, Thurs, Sat, + Sunday. Vaudeville troop came over from St Louis to perform. Evelyn Schwartz was the ticket taker. Joe Sperandis + Jule Lishka served as projectionists. Mabel Russel and Jennie Raffaelle provided piano accompaniment to silent films. Closed during the depression. Served as a meeting place for townspoeple until about 1960. Demolished several years later - Joan Foster" |
